Our 2011 harvest promises an exciting selection of wine after our young wines claimed 6 gold medals and 5 champion category trophies at the Stellenbosch regional finals, including the White Blend, the Semillon, the Wooded Shiraz and the Wooded Sauvignon Blanc categories.
The 2011 South Africa Champion Wines were announced on Friday the 19th of August in Lambert’s Bay. This year Riebeek Cellars claimed the coveted General Smuts Trophy for Best Young Wine in South Africa with their Wooded Viognier, and although it was tough to say goodbye to the trophy, we extend our congratulations to Riebeek Cellars for their achievement. Flagstone finished the award ceremony as one of only two wineries to take home more than one trophy. Along with the two SA champion trophies, Flagstone was also crowned the class winner in the White Blend, Semillon and Wooded Sauvignon Blanc categories.

Gerhard, Bruce and the Flagstone winemaking team have once again done a magnificent job with the 2011 harvest, they continue to makes us incredibly proud to be part of the Flagstone family. Well done on another fantastic achievement.
