Our Wine of the Month Posted on June 15 2018 by
The process of getting the subtle fruit flavours from our grapes, is what makes this fortified wine different to most others.
It is the perfect finish to a delectable meal and a marvelous evening. But try it out and you have the final say.
Flowing from a bright sapphire to a rich ruby red, our Last Word leaves a sweet, tangy sensation on the tongue. By fortifying a fermenting wine with barrel-aged brandy we stop the wildly raging fermentation in its tracks. This is the traditional South African way of weaving the ethereal flavours and aromas of fermentation into the typical dense, complex and tannic structure of our handmade reds. Giving us a wine with fabulous structure and the fruitiness and spiciness of Pinotage, but with a little bit of sugar, making it a perfect pairing from something sweet.
