CELLAR HAND BACKCHAT 2004
Cellar Hand The Cellar Hand range is a joint venture between Flagstone employees and the Jack Family. It is a way our long serving loyal employees can benefit directly from the Flagstone name. It offers those who are committed to Flagstone something above and beyond the monotonous security of a monthly salary.
This is a lovely, easy drinking wine with an interesting blend of seven different varieties. It has a deep ruby red colour, a combination of red fruit blends, an earthiness, and a chocolate spicy undertone on the nose. The American oak in which the bulk of this wine was aged is well integrated with the rest of the nose.
With a crispness on entry that signifies the pomegranate and an amarula creaminess on the mid palate. The wine has a smooth and long finish. This is a wine to be enjoyed around the "braaivleis" (barbeque) with friends.
This blend was assembled democratically by the winemaking team (i.e. during long chaotic tasting sessions). I called it the Backchat Blend for obvious reasons. Our cellar environment encourages rebellious thought, individual creativity and passionate commitment to our cause.
