Flagstone Wines unlock another string of awards – Winner of the NWC Red Wine of the Year Award

Flagstone dominated the 2022 National Wine Challenge / Top 100 SA Wines competition, walking away with 2 Grand Cru, 5 Top 100 & Double Platinum wins plus 6 Double Golds and a Wine of the Year.

Flagstone Dragon Tree Cape Blend has claimed the Red Wine of the Year for 2022 – the highest scoring red in the challenge. The Flagstone Treaty Tree Sauvignon Blanc/ Semillon claimed the Grand Cru award in its category, an amazing achievement!

Flagstone Wines tied with four other wine producers leading the Double platinum / Top 100 charts, including Van Loveren Family Vineyards, Alvi’s Drift Private Cellar, and Perdeberg Wines.

The judges’ task was unusually arduous with most places hotly contested. The selection process was thorough and rigorous, as it always is. Greater numbers of fine-wine entries intensify pressure for the limited category wines.  Each and every wine was objectively and independently assessed with great care and professional diligence.  The process was gruelling and from the stellar line-up of great South African wines, Flagstone’s fine wine reached the podium.
